Alberto Bressan is a composer, producer and pianist working across cinematic music, orchestral composition and music for media.

As Alberto’s catalogue grew, the website needed to do more than present releases. It needed to support two very different ways of finding music: browsing by instinct, and searching for something precise.

The result is both an expressive digital identity and a practical tool for exploring his work. Typography, imagery and sound help convey Alberto’s musical world, while a flexible navigation system makes an expanding catalogue easier to browse, search and discover.

Turning a music portfolio into an exploration tool

The portfolio is built around a multi-dimensional filtering system that allows visitors to narrow the catalogue by genre, instruments, duration, BPM and key.

Rather than applying the same interaction pattern to every parameter, each filter is designed around the nature of the information it controls. Genres and keys can be selected directly, instruments can be included or excluded from a search, while duration and BPM are handled as adjustable ranges.

The result is an interface that supports both open-ended discovery and highly specific searches.

The typography reflects the two sides of the website. Sans-serif type carries Alberto’s identity and editorial content, while monospaced typography gives track metadata a more systematic, catalogue-like character.

Releases

Designed around the content

Releases range from singles and EPs to full albums, each with different amounts and types of information. The page system was therefore designed to adapt to the content available, preserving a consistent structure without forcing every release into the same template.

Flexible modules allow artwork, tracklists, credits, descriptions and additional metadata to appear only when relevant, keeping each page clear while supporting a varied and evolving catalogue.

Responsive Design

The same depth, on a smaller screen

The mobile experience preserves the same information and functionality available on larger screens, rather than reducing the catalogue to a simplified version. Content, metadata and interactions are reorganised around the available space, maintaining clarity and hierarchy while giving users full access to Alberto’s work from any device.
